Sunny skies pair perfectly with 36-degree Lake Michigan temperatures. On Sunday, March 6th, Special Olympics Chicago held their 16th Annual Polar Plunge Event. A few of our board members put on their big boy pants and plunged without a problem. An astounding $1.5 million dollars was raised at this years plunge! This is such a great way for participants to put some chilly action behind those warm-heated donations.
There were around 5,800 participants in this years plunge which is more than the organization has seen in the past.
For the second year in a row, Lady Gaga took the plunge with her Chicago PD star fiance, Taylor Kinney. “Today” show weatherman, Al Roker made the plunge for the first time in Chicago!
