30th Annual Golf Outing

On August 12th, the sun was shining, the bloody marys were flowing and a helicopter with 500 golf balls was hovering over guests ready to get the day started.

The anticipation for this milestone as an organization was one we didn’t take lightly and wanted to create some extra curve balls throughout the course. We were so honored to have our charity partners present and had a very special guest singer, Siobhan, a special Olympian who lead us in a beautiful rendition of God Bless America.

Tom Doyle, Kevin Kickels and Bob Lanigan, co-chairs once again, reflected on the last 30 years and we heard from our partner charities which have been with us since the beginning. New this year was the Helicopter Ball Drop. 500 golf ball were dropped from the sky and one lucky winner split the earnings.

First up – a theme to match the #1 movie of the Summer – Top Gun Maverick. A handmade bar with hanging planes, Budweiser on tap and one of the best bartenders out there (thanks Julie!).

Another must see (and couldn’t missed it if you tried) was the Lollapalooza hole, where the sounds of karaoke could be heard from half way across the course. All the way from Mexico, a local celebrity and dedicated board member, Tino Gonzalez could really hit those high notes.

Of course the outing wouldn’t be complete without the McMurrays on the grill and trombone throwing a killer tailgate at the Bears hole. Hey now!

Need a little extra sunshine? Pull up to the Summer Fun hole where you could relive your childhood with unlimited ice cream yet feel adult enough for whiskey tasting from Bird Dog Whiskey. We’ve been told they both pair well together and good times were had by all!

Not Your Father’s Foundation, a One for the Kids charity, brought back their fun “Horse Race” hole which was a great stop for some betting and beer drinking. A fun and entertaining theme and we wouldn’t expect any differently from this awesome crew.

Another fun and colorful hotspot with all of the alcohol and snacks you can imagine? The Pelican Harry’s Sports Grill and American Promotions & Apparel hole. Thanks to our lovely volunteers who made this happen!

The party didn’t stop there – as golfers came in from the course, Elvis himself decided to make an appearance. Thanks to all of our golfers for a fabulous day of having a great time for a great cause! We can’t wait for the next 30.

Lastly, a HUGE thank you to all of our sponsors. We appreciate your continued support and we can’t wait to see you next year!
