Where else can you witness a dunk tank, play life-size beer pong and watch a helicopter drop 500 golf balls from the sky? It’s just another year at the OFTK golf outing! On August 11th, more than 170 golfers were out having a great time for a great cause at Old Oak Country Club.
We are always so grateful to have our partner charities present for the day including the incredible athletes from Special Olympics Chicago. Our guest singer and special olympian, Siobhan, was back and better than ever. She led us in a beautiful rendition of God Bless America and then a surprise “rolling down the river” which had everyone applauding. After the helicopter dropped all purchased golf balls, we declared one lucky winner and we were off to start the day.
Each year, the themed holes seem to out do themselves and this was no exception. First up – zoom past the Nascar hole, a timely theme for the Summer. It was well-equipped with flags, toy cars and apparel for all!
Another must see was the Dunk Tank hole, where there was music, games and oh yeah, a dunk tank. Fun was had by all – still up for debate on those who were actually dunked!
Not Your Father’s Foundation, a One for the Kids charity, had a fun fiesta hole which was a great stop for some beer drinking and sombrero-wearing. A fun and entertaining theme and we wouldn’t expect any differently from this awesome crew.
Gigantic red solo cups fit right in on a golf course, right? We were so excited to see this game make an appearance again!
Are those pirates on the course?! The Pirate hole was so fun – everyone could take a picture with Captain Jack Sparrow and tee off with an eye patch – we’ve got some very talented golfers.
The Forge was FULL of fun and games – and delicious Freshie seltzers.
Another fun and colorful hotspot with all of the alcohol and snacks you can imagine? The Pelican Harry’s Sports Grill and American Promotions & Apparel hole. Thanks to our lovely volunteers who made this happen!
The party didn’t stop there – as golfers came in from the course, there was music, great food and winners announced. Thanks to all of our golfers for a fabulous day of having a great time for a great cause! We can’t wait for next year!
