27th Annual Golf Outing

What do lederhosen’s, the Sybaris and a guy on stilts all have in common? Well for starters they were all in attendance at our Golf Outing. On Friday, August 16th the sun was shining, the coolers were filled to the top with beer and our new and veteran golfers were making quite an entrance. The 27th annual outing was in full swing!

Co-chairman, Bob Lanigan began the morning by introducing our partner charities. We were lucky enough to have 3 athletes from Special Olympics and representatives from Advocate Children’s Heart Institute! Also Dan & Gina Hampton make it out every year and it means so much to us!

As many of you know, we love to make the event bigger and better each year with different themed holes around the course.

St. Patricks Day is 7 months away? Oh no worries, we just wanted to get people in the mood. You couldn’t miss the Irish Pub hole if you tried. A Guinness and your best Irish accent pairs well with golf attire. We have a feeling this bar will keep popping up at our events..and we’re not mad about it.

Just after you’ve finished your pint or shot of Whiskey, hop in your cart and stop by the Circus hole. Balloons, red noses, Carey Corn popcorn and a guy on stilts. All a recipe for a great (and safe) time.

In need of champagne and strawberries? Welcome to the Sybaris themed hole – new to the course! Thank you to the team at Sybaris for sponsoring!

October is right around the corner so the OKTOBERFEST hole really made us what to throw on our lederhosen and pour a stein of beer. Thanks for going all out guys. Prost!

And of course, The Ultimate Bear’s Tailgate hole where the McMurray’s do it right and make sure you’ve heard the Bear’s Fight Song more than once. It was also fitting that we ended the night watching the Bears game on the big screen. Hey now!

Thank you to our Co-chairs, Kevin Kickels, Tom Doyle and Bob Lanigan. You KNOCKED it out of the park and we appreciate all of your hard work! Thank you to all of sponsors, donors, golfers and Old Oak Country Club for the last 27 years of support. See you on August 14, 2020!
