2019 Curve Ball Recap

On February 23rd, we held our Curve Ball event, benefiting the Gonzalez family and our partner charities. It was a night filled with curve balls, cocktails and a cause we can all get behind.

Guests were greeted with a glass of champagne from a very special moving, smiling costume table. Talk about experiencing a unique curve ball before the first inning even started.

As always, people started crowding around the Tito’s Vodka Ice luge for the most refreshing martini to start the night. Others played put-put golf and a round of black jack, but you couldn’t help but think about the real reason we were all there. The Gonzalez Family.

To officially kick off the program we were lucky enough to have Jack V. Miuccio beautifully sing the National Anthem.

Cue a couple of curve balls. The St. Laurence marching band lead us into the main ballroom followed by a group of bagpipers because every event, no matter the time of year, needs a good band and a fellow piper.

Bob Lanigan took the stage to address the reason why we were all gathered together. After watching the amazing video about Alex’s story, we opened it up for donation opportunities. In less than 10 minutes we raised over $45K which is the most we’ve ever raised during that part of the program. We are so grateful for your support!

Is that Elvis in the house?? Thank you, thank you very much for providing additional entertainment throughout the room. Three outfit changes was the curve ball we didn’t know we needed.

While the Paul Windsor Orchestra was rockin’ in the main ballroom, some our (very talented) guests posted up at the karaoke area. Elvis was a little hesitant to give the mic over to everyone but a great time was had by all- even Alex!

Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors and supporters who truly made this night a success! We can’t wait for the next 26 years!

Stay tuned for more pictures of the event coming soon on our Facebook page.
