Great times for a great cause

Thank you for considering making a donation to One for the Kids! We recently lost our dear friend and long-time board member, Billy Bracken to cancer. His family kindly asked for donations in lieu of flowers and we appreciate you keeping the memory of Billy alive and well through the kids! Full obituary can be found here.

Where does my donation go?

We love this question because of the answer. The money goes to one of two places - Our two charity partners which are Special Children's Charities, and Advocate Children's Heart Institute. The second place your donation goes is straight to our sponsor family or families of the Curve Ball. With the exception of one administrator which are paid hourly, our charity is made up of all volunteers that get compensated by smiles.

On April 18th we lost our dear friend and long-time board member, Billy Bracken to cancer. He truly lived our motto of having a great time for a great cause. If you would like to see his memory live on through the kids, you can donate here.

Golf Outing

Our annual Golf Outing is hosted every August and supports our partner charities, Advocate Children’s Heart Institute and Special Children’s Charities.

Curve Ball

Our annual cocktail event is thrown once a year to benefit our selected host family. We plan a grand evening of dancing, good food and great entertainment for a worthy cause.

Direct Donations

One for the Kids also accepts direct donations throughout the year. Donate now.

Events

In addition to our traditional benefactors, local families, that have a specific child based need, are nominated to our organization each year. Our cocktail event's main purpose is to help support one of those families. This allows us to focus our efforts to a specific family, child, and need.

Make a Donation

One for the Kids was established in 1993 by a group of concerned individuals who wanted to make a difference. Our first event was held at Old Oaks Golf course and raised a few thousand dollars. Since that time we have raised over $2,500,000 for several different charities. All our charities benefit children of the Chicagoland area.
