A Sweet Saturday Night

On Saturday, February 13th, we hosted our 8th Annual Cocktail Event: The Curve Ball benefiting the Kud family. What happens when you have a live Kiss Cam, a bagpiper and a Ballpark peanut vendor all in one room? A whole lot of Curve Ball lovin’. It was Valentines Day Weekend and our guests came ready to give with all of their hearts.

It was a chilly Saturday night as our  guests arrived at the Hyatt Lodge at McDonald’s Campus.  The ladies were handed roses as the men handed over their credit cards for the silent auction fun. The Quiet Revelry took the main stage for an acoustic music session and our first “curve ball” was break dancing in the other room. There’s nothing better than a bagpiper walking through the venue in a kilt while you sip a cold cocktail from an Ice Luge. And the night was just beginning.

Bob Lanigan introduced the Kud’s, this year’s host family. Sweet Kayla looked beautiful and had her two older supportive sisters by her side the entire time. There was not a dry eye in the room when we showed the video narrating the struggles that Kayla has endured for the first 3 years of her life.  She is the strongest 3 year old we know! Bob also paid a very heart-felt tribute to the one and only Johnny Lattner, who passed away that morning. Johnny was a very big supporter of our organization.  We toasted to his long life filled with laugh out loud, momentous moments.

Our event chairman, Joe Chura and his brilliant team at Launch Digital Marketing set up a live Kiss Cam throughout the room and captured some cute couple cuddles. Mike and Joe (you need to check them out!) took the stage and rocked until 1 a.m. The dance floor was filled and it was a great way to end a night of fundraising!

Our main purpose was to raise money for the Kud family and we did just that. It was such an honor to have them there and to see everyone spreading the love for sweet Kayla.
